Cookie Policy

Why this policy exists

Emerald Auto Wash is a trusted car wash in Ireland. We specialise in professional exterior washing and interior cleaning. Our goal is simple, convenient, and efficient car care with a fresh spotless shine. We offer quality products, modern equipment, affordable prices, and reliable service. At Emerald Auto Wash, customer satisfaction is a top priority, and that includes being clear about the small amount of storage used on this informational website.

Many commercial websites load advertising trackers, social pixels, and multi-vendor analytics. This static site is deliberately simpler. It presents wash information, package notes, interior guidance, about content, contact details, and legal documents. The only intentional client-side preference we store today is whether you have closed the cookie notice banner so it does not repeat on every page load during the same browsing period on that device.

Current storage

Name	Type	Purpose
iron_route_cookie_ok	LocalStorage	Remembers that the cookie notice was accepted or closed on this browser.

The technical key name iron_route_cookie_ok is used by the site script that controls the banner. Changing that key would break the existing behaviour, so the published name remains exactly as implemented. The value is a simple acknowledgement flag. It is not a login token, not a payment credential, and not a profile of your wash history or vehicle details.

Cookies versus LocalStorage

People often use the word cookie for any small piece of browser storage. Strictly speaking, HTTP cookies are sent with requests to a server. LocalStorage stays in the browser and is read by scripts on the same site origin. Our notice preference uses LocalStorage rather than a traditional tracking cookie. We still describe it in this Cookie Policy because visitors expect a clear explanation of any storage related to the cookie banner.

LocalStorage for iron_route_cookie_ok does not travel with every image request and is not designed to follow you across unrelated websites. It is limited to this site origin on the device where you clicked the notice button. If you use another browser, another phone, or a private window with cleared data, the banner may appear again until you dismiss it on that environment.

What we do not currently use

No analytics cookies are currently included on this website. We do not load third-party advertising networks through the pages. We do not embed social media plugins that set their own trackers when you merely open a service page. We do not run A/B testing cookies that identify returning visitors for marketing experiments. If that posture changes in the future, this policy will be updated before broader tracking is introduced.

Hosting providers may still generate ordinary server logs when pages are requested. Those logs are separate from the LocalStorage preference and are described in our Privacy Policy. They support security and uptime rather than personalised advertising. The cookie banner preference does not expand those logs into a marketing database about exterior washing or interior cleaning enquiries.

How the notice works

When you first visit, a banner explains that the site stores one local preference to remember that the notice was closed. Choosing the acknowledgement button writes iron_route_cookie_ok into LocalStorage and hides the banner on subsequent loads in that browser. The banner also points to this Cookie Policy so you can read the details before or after acknowledging the notice.

Closing the notice is not a purchase, booking, or consent to sell personal data. It simply prevents repeated interruptions while you read about exterior wash, foam and rinse, interior care, packages, or contact options. You can still email [email protected], call +35316607194, or visit 15 Merrion Row, Dublin, D02 PF50, Ireland regardless of whether the banner is visible.

Browser control and clearing data

You can clear LocalStorage through your browser settings, site data tools, or by using a privacy mode that discards storage when the session ends. After clearing site data for this domain, the notice may appear again because the iron_route_cookie_ok value is gone. That is expected behaviour and does not mean the site has started tracking you differently.

Browser vendors provide different menus for clearing cookies and site data. Look for options that remove storage for this website specifically if you want to keep other sites untouched. Disabling all JavaScript will also affect navigation controls and the banner script; the informational pages may still be readable depending on your browser, but interactive elements may not behave as designed. Affordable prices and package notes remain readable as static text either way.

Future changes and related policies

If we later add a map embed, video host, or booking helper that sets its own cookies, we will name those technologies here. Until then, assume only the LocalStorage key in the table above is intentionally set by our front-end script for the notice. Read this Cookie Policy with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Storage of iron_route_cookie_ok does not create a wash contract and does not replace in-person job paperwork for exterior washing or interior cleaning.

Emerald Auto Wash remains focused on reliable service and a fresh spotless shine. Clarity about storage is part of that reliability. We will not rename the iron_route_cookie_ok key without updating both the script and this policy, because mismatched names would confuse visitors and break the banner behaviour.

Shared devices and questions

The website is intended for adult drivers. The LocalStorage preference does not knowingly target children. On a shared computer, another person using the same browser profile may inherit the dismissed banner state until site data is cleared. Use a private window if you prefer not to leave storage on a shared machine. Questions about iron_route_cookie_ok or this notice can be sent to [email protected] or +35316607194.
